There are some people whose native language is not English, but they studied English as a second (or later) language (especially at an early age) and got exposed to (especially in a professional way) people speaking (and writing/typing) English very well, so they can easily look like they are native English speakers. π§ββοΈπ€π

Oh, yes, indeed, and I've met and talked with many people like that. I can almost always tell if someone is a native speaker or not, usually by how they organize words, the pronunciation of some words, and their choice of words. π π π β¨ π€

I assume that when someone who is not a native English speaker has studied foreign languages (including English) as a profession (where some of the possible jobs are authoring and translating) would appear to be a native English speaker to you and some others. π€π€

Yes, there are indeed people that have developed an excellent proficiency, but there are almost always small clues that English is not their original language. You have to pay attention to notice them, but they are telltale signs that are dead giveaways. πππβ¨π€
