This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
One of our favorite hikes is in the Everton Conservancy, along the Molweni River, to the Everton Waterfall.
It is situated in the Upper Highway Area, west of Durban on the east coast of South Africa.
I have shared some photos of this trail and the waterfall before. But today, I will focus on some early-morning forest views and sceneries along the way on this trail. The whole trail takes you through a beautiful forest.
It rained the night before we went on this hike, so everything was still wet and fresh...especially going into the forest!
Starting the hike...
Approaching the denser forest area.
Walking along the Molweni River.
On this day, it looked like nothing but a little stream. But, during the previous floods we had, it caused havoc.
This is one of the beautiful, peaceful, green scenes along the way.
From time to time, you come across wider, open areas where the river bed widens a bit over some rocky areas.
At other times, you move a bit higher up, away from the river, into denser, almost "bushy" areas.
But even in these areas, you get the most beautiful forest views.
Getting closer to the river again, the sun breaks through to create this beautiful scene.
Here is an impressive rocky area, with the river barely visible through all the greenery.
Often you find places such as these, where crystal-clear water is flowing over the rocks.
In my last photo for today...a little wooden foot-bridge ahead where we can cross the river...
From here you can return to the starting point via another trail on the opposite side of the river, or you can continue to the waterfall.
So this is where I'll call it a day for today's post. I hope you enjoyed the forest views with me.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
