Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
Worth The Time!
Now I've finally gotten something that I feel is worth the time it takes to get done with!
I have missed you dearly and deeply my old friend! It has been quite sometime since I last did one of these 6R80 valve-bodies! A bit too long if you ask me!
This one isn't really in all that bad of a condition, it just has a lot of gunk inside it, damn glad for that though. The clutches inside the transmission burned up and we said well there doesn't appear to be any steel inside the transmission so we thought we might give it a go at just cleaning it up.
We did replace six very small rubbers though, so there is that!
It Looks Worse.
The utterly disgusting condition of the oil really makes this job look like a total burnout!
Well in truth the oil is burnt out, isn't it?
So without further a due I should get up on it and start rinsing these body blocks out with some paraffin! Everything except anything rubber or silicone related of-course!
I can even rinse out the computer hey! They are built extremely tough!
A Closer Look.
I don't know about everyone but I can speak a great deal for myself!
I find things such as these extremely beautifull, the engineering behind it all, can you imagine the attention and focus that must have went into this?
Beyond Measure!
So notice those circular objects inside of the block at the bottom side? If you remove those they have these little rubber knobs underneath them, we are going to replace them because they grow stiff after some time and then they don't work like they should!
Where Attention Should Be.
If there is really anything on this cleanup that I should be giving my utmost attention it would be these little solenoids!
They by far consume the most junk of everything inside this transmission! Rinsing those things out can be a very tedious and irritating job to do! It's really a rinse and repeat situation over and over again!
Until they are clean!
Shining Silver!
Ah The Beauty!
Well once the cleaning part is done it's on to the next phase of the operation!
To get it all back together in one piece! That shouldn't be too hard now should it? Just do everything in reverse hey!
It is still a beautifull sight right!
A Deal Done!
It's done with!
On the morrow I can go ahead and re-fit the transmission to the engine and have the vehicle done with if all goes as planned! Yeah these automatic things never go as planned! Of that you can be certain! Beyond certain actually!
Until the next one stay safe and stay Blessed people!
