I noticed a bit of extra noise while running on the weekend. These nikey which I have had for a while always made a bit of extra noise. Like a clopping sound if I ran a bit flat footed. I'm not sure if it was a design fault, but it sort of helped me keep good form, not to over stride and to stay a bit forward of centre. I would usually notice the noise as I got tired at the end of a 5 kilometre run.
After a bit of closer inspection, I noticed they were pretty much falling apart. I was lucky not to fall out of them while on the run. They always said I would not be getting much mileage out of them, but they lasted me for years. You can actually see I actually completely worn though part of the sole.
The air zoom tempo next% was the first carbon plated air pod shoe I ever had. I am tempted to actually glue these back together and see how much more I could get out of them. The orange plate is the stiff carbon plate with two layers of responsive foam, either side. I can definitely feel the extra bounce and like them when trying to go a bit faster.
I usually train in normal zero drop, trail shoes, even on the road, but do like the super shoes for special occasions.
What's your favourite shoe?
