We were out West today and passed through a small country town of Millmerran. It is part of the Toowoomba council region on the Darling Downs about 200 kilometres west of Brisbane.
The name comes from the Aboriginal words “meel” meaning eye and “merran” meaning to look. We did not make it up to the look out as we had further to travel.
We use lots of these country towns as rest stops to stretch the legs and hopefully not totally ruin my activity count.
This little town has done a good job making the place look very neat and tidy. The town's water tank had a good mural and they had put all the old buildings into a museum and tourist information centre.
