A Blue tongue lizard on our afternoon walk. I had to video it and then do some screenshots to get an image with the tongue out. It was in front of one of the neighbours' houses heading for the road, so we steered it back to where it had come from.
They do not go well on the road as this type of lizard moves so slow, but their tongues are so fast in and out as they move. I think the fast-moving tongue is some sort of defensive mechanism.
They have the smallest arms and legs too and move more like a snake.
I think this 30k activity count keeps me in the Poprzecka competition for a couple more days, but I might need another big day or 2 before the end of this month.
