Hey Actifitters,
It's getting hotter and more humid around here, so yesterday we went back to our usual technique against heat: lots of short breaks, instead of just a few longer ones. But our main activity was of course once again our daily walk with Kaia late afternoon.
After we left the front yard, not even 2 blocks away, we met this cool deer. He didn't bother moving, just stared at us.
But we just wanted to go to the forest, so we didn't bother him any longer.
Kaia still showed some weakness the day before, so we didn't go for the long route. But I thought she was ready for the medium route.
She must have felt okay, because she spent her time photobombing my attempts at a cover pic.
But I can forgive her, she was clearly suffering from the heat.
They brought more wood mulch near the playground. I guess there's still a few trails they didn't cover yet.
Still a very slow progress at the road construction, but at least it is finally moving a bit!
This is where we usually go back into the forest after our Cubiverse vaults detour, but I just couldn't face the mosquitoes any more. It was even worse than the day before, I may have to skip the forest for a while.
So instead we walked more in the quiet neighborhood.
At home, I could try out the Bug Bite thing I bought some time ago. It's supposed to be like magic with mosquito bites. Well, I wasn't convinced, but to be fair, I didn't know exactly how to use it. It seems simple enough but maybe I missed something. I'll try again.
I had planned to go for a run too. But we finished our walk too late, and I didn't feel like a night run. So instead I improvised a HIIT session at home. Not too long, but intense, like HIIT should be I guess. And I finished the day with a little more pacing in the yard to round up a fairly good final step count. Hopefully it will be enough for the #Macfit Olympics.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
