Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was very rainy and gloomy, the bad kind of fall season day. So, as soon as we caught a break in the rain, we went outside with Kaia.
Very few leaves left on most of the trees.
Kaia was full of energy again, it's getting more and more difficult to prevent her from running and jumping.
One way is to go for a walk, as it's a steadier effort, with very little impact. Once again, we started at the small forest behind the front yard.
It's a bit contradictory to what I just said, but I decided to go in this time, in spite of the lack of trails.
When we found too many obstacles, we turned around though.
Back at home, Le Chat was doing what she does best!
But the main event of the day was the Depeche Mode concert in Detroit! It didn't start great though: the very second we got out of the car, it started raining and quite heavily. We were just soaked when we got inside.
The band Diiv (which I discovered is pronounced dive) was opening for them. I admit I didn't know them, but they were pretty good. One can definitely hear lots of great influences in their sound, especially grunge like Nirvana.
As good as they were, everybody was waiting for Depeche Mode of course. And here they were!
By then, the venue was almost full. I guess lots of people are nostalgic about 80s New Wave music!
Of course, they played all the big hits, and some new songs as well.
They played 20 something songs in about 2 hours. Really cool! After that, we didn't even mind walking back to the car under the rain again.
In short, it was a great concert! They all turned 60, but they can still rock out like they used to 40 years ago! I'm not even a huge fan of them, but I used to listen to them many years ago with my older brothers, when I was just 6 or 7 years old! Every chance I get to see them live, I do. And they always deliver! Hopefully there will be plenty more shows in the future!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
