After spending some time in the office, it's good to get out and improve the yard. Our hedge is finished flowering, now it's time to cut it back and get it under control again.

It' a big job cleaning up all the branches.

It's a smokey day outside today, from the Canadian fires. Everything is misty and I'm having some trouble breathing.

Cleaning up the hedge exposes all the weeds and undergrowth that needs to be removed.

This is the before:

There are nightshade vines, baby maple trees and lots of "creeping charlie" that I'm getting rid of. This is the after:

Big improvement! Now I just have to keep going down the line until it's all cleaned up. Branches and weeds. Eventually, I'd like to put down fresh mulch too.
