Due to the recent increase in $HIVE's price, it may prove rather difficult to continue HSBI rewards for posts in the FreeCompliments Community. Each unit of HSBI is now more expensive than before; the rewards for posts, in dollar amount, do not yet reflect the increase in Hive's price. In other words, the HIVE rewards for the same votes (at a higher fiat valuation) are a little bit lower than before. This is the primary factor that may make it more difficult to continue giving out HSBI.
I'm currently trading HIVE/HBD quite a bit, and will attempt to hold out HBD to purchase more HIVE when its price drops - assuming that it drops. If this should happen, then it'll be more likely to continue the rewards. If not, then I'd only continue to rewards until we run out of HSBI.
Additionally, if the HIVE rewards from our daily posts end up similar to how we were previously running, then we'll also be in good shape to continue.
For the time being, the rewards will continue. Should we be unable to continue at any point moving forward, I'll make a formal announcement, and I'll use my own personal earnings to make whole everyone that is promised HSBI rewards.
I've considered some contingency plans: in such a situation, we may change the reward system to something more affordable (i.e. 2nd layer tokens / Ecency Points / promotions only), possibly temporarily (i.e. a few days or weeks at a time), or in the worst case scenario, permanently.
