Yesterday was so great! For some time, I have wanted to do new hiking trails. I want to go deeper into the mountains and increase a bit the difficulty of the routes I do, especially on weekends. And since a few weeks ago, I've been looking for a chance to do one of the many routes that can be done in El Avila. So with a friend, I signed up for a tour last Sunday that included a hike to the Picacho de Galipán from the Boca de Tigre sector.
The Picacho is about 1,978 meters above sea level and is the fifth high point of the Cordillera de la Costa. Probably next Wednesday, I will give you details of the route we took to get there.
The views from there to the coast of the central coast of Venezuela, in the state of La Guaira, are breathtaking. As well as the view towards the mountains and the different sectors of Galipán.
But apart from commenting on how satisfied I feel for having been able to go to this trail. And fulfilling a goal I had set for myself and enjoying a Sunday morning in perfect harmony with nature, I would like to share a wonderful moment we had at the summit, and that surely my friends from Cinnamon Cup Coffee would enjoy as well.
We did the tour guided by Cima Venezuela. At the end of the post, I leave their contact information because I recommend them. They are great, very attentive, and with details like this one.
The couple from Cima Venezuela was equipped and prepared to give us all in the group a freshly brewed coffee in El Picacho.
They got down to work so that we could share a freshly brewed coffee on that stone promontory with breathtaking views.
They brewed it with a cloth bag, just like they used to brew it at my grandmother's house when I was a child.
And voila! A freshly brewed coffee with that amazing view and so near to the clouds is one of those priceless moments in life.
And while I was enjoying my coffee, I was watching how the clouds were getting closer and covering the view of the coastline.
An experience that I want to repeat. I'm already planning to go again at the end of the year when my son comes home. And I am already insisting to my husband that he has to train to be able to do the trekking too. This trail is not as easy as the one I usually do in the mountains near home, but a person in good physical condition can do it without any difficulty.
