His heart raced a million miles when the call came In. He ran out of his office like a madman towards his car and drove off with a screech. The police chased him when he 'refused' to stop. No... he couldn’t stop!
There was only one thing on his mind; “I have to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. I have to be there. I have to…" he shuddered. Moving the accelerator, he pressed on the car pedal as he speeds along until he got to the hospital.
Adam and his wife had been married for five good years without a child and in their sixth year something wonderful happened. It was a double blessing. His wife Diana fainted when they were having dinner at one of the high profiled restaurants in London. This happened 10 months ago.
He panicked, but pulled himself together and made sure she safely got to the hospital for a test. That was when his wife was diagnosed followed by an announcement that he's going to be a father! It wasn’t just a father of one, but two! How wonderful!
He felt like a newbie astronaut who was chosen to fly to space. Goodness me! He cried like a baby that night. He cried so hard that his wife ended up kissing him so passionately just to shush him up.
The doctor gave them instructions; things they should do and shouldn’t, the food she was to eat, the exercises to be taken, the Antenatal program, and all. He listened to every word the doctor said like they were a sermon.
He never missed out on any appointment they had. He was super happy and so was his wife. The news was unexpected as they had tried for years so, hearing and seeing the scan of their babies made them realize that everything is real.
Now, all they had to do was wait. He watched her body change so fastly. The baby bump that began to show. He watched as his wife woke him up every night for her cravings. How the babies moved and always listens to him when he speaks to them. It was beautiful... So beautiful that they were both in a hurry to carry their babies.
They went shopping, prepared the nursery room together, and worked on names to be given to their miraculous babies. Adam read every book on parenting and guidance. He learned how to play new games, got a train track and trains to play games with his kids, God knows he has a lot to teach them, playing train has been one of his childhood fantasy which is why he decided to be a construction Engineer and things had been so amazing for him and his lovely wife Diana who was a caterer.
Life was beautiful for them as they await the month given to them of his wife's delivery. Sadly, the babies never came. He was alarmed and took his wife to the hospital where the doctor told them they had to wait until the wife starts having contractions. He was scared even though the doctor said everything was fine, “Oh, that’s what they say” he hadn’t been able to sleep as he would check on his wife breathing continually. From the way he acted, it would be hard to believe he wasn’t the pregnant one.
Countless times his wife teased him on how utterly protective he would be of their babies especially if they were girls.
Guys would have to stay off if they want to live.
Getting off his car, he walked toward the hospital building not minding the police blares that were heard. He knew he would have to be arrested but that wasn't in the list of his problems at the moment. He has been waiting for too long for this day and it couldn’t be missed out on.
When his wife called him that she was at the hospital, he lost all sense of reasoning as his heart started skipping beats. His mind yelled at him; “You’ve got to be there for her” and now he was here. After getting directions from the receptionist, he quickly ran towards the elevator and waited not so patiently for the ding sound. The elevator was too slow for his liking. He wished he could FLY.

Immediately the ding sound was heard, he walked toward the Delivery Room where he met with some nurses in charge. They gave him a gown and had his hands sanitized before he walked into the delivery room.
Seeing his wife's face made him pause for a second. She was in pain. He could hear it and feel the sound that left her lips vibrating on the wall of his soul.
Holding her hands, he spoke sweet words to her, encouraging her and rubbing her palms. That seems to work as the pain that surged into his body made him scream as his wife gave a long push as the doctor ordered, but the pain left immediately when he heard a tiny voice. He didn’t need a balm to bring tears to his eyes, or an onion, she pushed again and another had come out.
Adam was astounded. He couldn’t believe what his eyes were seeing. He was sure he wouldn’t recover from the beauty that was bestowed on him by his wife, pushing out again, the placenta came out and he found himself sighing deeply.
Looking at his wife, he kissed her so passionately until the doctor chased him out as they needed to clean her up. Going out of the ward, he met with the policemen who also witnessed what was going on. They had gave him a ticket and warned him, but not after congratulating him for becoming a father.
Adam walked into the hospital alone but walked out with his lovely wife and babies, a boy and a girl who they named William and Rose. He was smiling ear to ear as he walked toward his car with his wife and babies.
Opening the car for his new family, he stepped, he made sure everyone was seated positioned safely before stepping on the pedal. This time around, he didn’t speed. He drove as calmly as possible. Not just because he's scared of getting ticketed by the Police. He just doesn't have a reason to FLY anymore.
