I woke up not feeling the best, but as usual, I got dressed, ready for my morning workout. My garmin watch started showing my heart was a lot higher than normal.
Usually, it is like 60 to 70 after getting out of bed, but it was 100 to 110 without doing anything.
It was very hot and humid outside, I was not feeling the best. Was my watch trying to tell me something. Was I coming down with something?
I have been spending a lot more time trying to keep my easy workouts easy in my zone 2 and recording my rate rate at different times even while sleeping.
As I get older, it might be really helpful. I might as well use all the science and technology that's out there and try and make it work for me.
Normally, I would have still done some sort of workout trying to take it easy, but as it was looking like there was no way to keep my heart rate under 120, even for a warm-up. I changed my plan for the day to rest and worked on some of the war hammer models that had been sitting in the cubboard for ages.
I left better in the afternoon and still did the afternoon walk, even with the higher heart rate. I wonder how accurate these wrist based heart monitoring actually are ?
