RE: Como hacer dulce de leche (arequipe) / Ideas para compartir con amor

Last week I had an attempt of caramel, don't wanna know how it ended up :D

Why adding on baking soda? Several times mom made it only with crystal sugar, (liquid) milk and butter at the end, but never spotted her adding baking soda.

Your version doesn't seem like something I'll be scratching out of pot 🤣

Hello I was in the kitchen hahaha, the baking soda is to help accentuate its caramel color, well so many say hahaha, but I have not done without it.... you have created a doubt in my mind 🤣 next time I will make it without baking soda, but we must wait, I still have an extra kilo to make a couple more recipes. 😁

Don't think it damages the caramel, just was surprised as never saw it used as ingredient :D, perhaps it adds on softness too, next to the color 🧐

(personally I can have it with spoon, no cookies, no cake required)

I have exactly one kilo on the side hahaha , and another smaller jar to eat with a spoon. 🤣
