Remember that scene from the first Lord of The Rings movies where Frodo and his pals are hiding under the huge tree root?
In case you don't remember, here it is:
And please do not even admit you haven't seen the movie. I will pretend I did not see the comment :p
Anyway..
I found that tree! :D
See? This is where they hid when all the nasty crawlies were coming out of the ground and root crevices.
And above there is the path where Nazgul was.
Tru story! I am not making this up!
🤣
You can't see there is a hideout when you stand above it. It is all covered with leaves, and just some mossy bits stick out.
This is a very big and very old European beech tree. Probably the biggest of this type in the forest.
Some years ago, this area was all messy, covered in lower bushes and ferns. In the part where the hole is, there used to be murky water with all kinds of rotten tree leftovers. It is dry now (or at least it was when I was there) and covered in a thick layer of leaves.
The path... it is also in the scene above when the distance zoom in in dizzy way. 😄
The whole forest is cleaner now and with the leafy trees it looks best in the fall. I stood there for a bit in complete silence and I could hear the leaves falling. Pure magic!
Last quick look at the hideout and I it was time to move on. I wanted to reach another part of the woods before it gets dark.
Autumn is my favourite season and when I get one like this hours of wandering around woods is just never enough.

I'll be back :)
