In life, the best moments happen spontaneously, and there are 2 people in my life I always wish them to be around. The joy and happines you cannot share is incomplete...
I planned the visit of my daughter in advance, but life made me cancel them. And I love what she used to say in this regard. No matter where and how the most important is that we get together. When she became so wise?
She couldn't walk much because of unexpected health issues. On the other hand, we didn't want to spend such a lovely summer day indoors. And I proposed to drive and see a charming place not too far from the city. It might be crowded on weekend but Nataly never been there and I knew she would like it. Let this wonderful day be full of smiles, joy and flowers.
So we did.
Less than an hour and we are at the spot.
My husband and I were here in early spring when he got a couple of free days from his military service. We returned home overwhelmed with quiet delight, harmony, a sense of infinity and zen. I took lots of photos on my camera. These are pictures my hubby took on his phone, rare pictures of me.😊
A mixture of colors of young spring and past autumn, the first delicate flowers, smooth curves of the hills, like the body of a giant animal that is about to wake up. At such moments, you want to be silent with your loved one by you, while moving your gaze along the ravines, and listening to the birds talk and the whisper of the wind.
I didn't expect this day to surpass my first impression. I didn't even grab my camera, something that I regretted later.
The car drove off the field road. When we drove up the hill the stunning scenery met our view. Hills and ravines were covered with the most beautiful carpet of wildflowers.
When I opened the car door, I was struck by an incredible aroma, as thick and strong as in my childhood, when I spent my summers in the countryside at my grandmother's house. It was something incredible...
Endless waves of wild sage, clover, wild peas, but one aroma I will never miss - it is thyme. This is an amazing herb, I collect it every June, dry it, and in autumn and winter add it to dishes and make thyme tea.
Since the beginning of the great war, the place where I always collected thyme became a restricted area. Last year I accidentally came across it near a small lake, but this place is too far from Kyiv. So this year, I received an awesome gift from Mother Nature.
By the way, I never tear it with my hands, I always use scissors, so I don't harm the plants. It's a blessing that my husband has a lot of things in his car for all occasions. He found garden shears and a bag, and as a bonus, he was tasked with picking up the thyme 😄 while my daughter and I went crazy over the incredible views and angles.
I didn't take the camera but grabbed 3 pieces of homemade pie, veggies and homemade lemonade.😅 The food never was more delicious!
After a short snack, we got in the car and moved to a neighboring location. It is impossible to miss as both sides of the road are parked with cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
The cloudy skies that we had in the morning had parted, it was turning hot. Nick got a call and stopped in the shadow of trees to talk on the phone. Nat was thrilled by the place and did not bother about people. I was happy because she was happy.
Thanks to Nat, I finally got photos of me that I am not ashamed to show, LOL.
Picking herbs, taking photos, fooling around, posing, walking up and down the hills - it all lasted less than 2 hours. But had a feeling of a long-lasting day in nature.
Only late in the evening, when my daughter got on the train and I was getting ready for bed, I realized that I burned in the sun and got a heatstroke. But I don't regret it. 😉
Moreover, it has been raining for several days in a row. And I have good sunny memories.
That's it!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend 💚
Cheers,
