Technology has taken over the world and if it hasn’t yet, it is the number developing field in the world. One thing that has come to light over these few years is Artificial Intelligence, AI. AI has been in development for a long time now but undoubtedly, it has become one of the leading innovations in technology.
The growth of AI has seen its application into several fields and not just IT. AI has diversified into health, finances, agriculture and a lot of other areas. We all in one way or the other make use of AI in our everyday lives. For me personally, my use of AI has been very limited since I graduated a few months ago.
In school, I used to make use of AI quite a lot. Chat GPT became like a second teacher to me especially for assignments that required a lot of research. In the beginning, the use of Chat GPT was much easier than using google or others because what you searched for gave you a somewhat centered one response unlike google that gives you several articles to choose from.
I made use of this AI even while in lectures because it provided faster answers to some questions. However, along the line I realized Chat GPT provided conflicting answers to some questions. You could ask the same question twice and get different answers. Though, I realized that, it didn’t stop me from using AI. I made use of it in my final year project work to write my introduction and some other things but unfortunately, my supervisor made me erase it all and rewrite because she didn’t like. I had to use the other route and make my own long research to complete my work.

The other times I use AI has to do with chat boxes. When you visit some sites like phone shops online, they have chat boxes you can question. Those chat boxes are usually always online to provide you with an answer. I have to say that is one very good application of AI because you don’t have to worry about customer service. You know its not human so you don’t really care as much.
I used my snapchat AI some months back when I saw something on X. The user provided a screenshot of a conversation with the snapchat AI where it couldn’t provide the right translation for egg in the Ghanaian language Twi. I tested it out and got the same response. I corrected the AI and gave my AI the right translation. I’ll have to check if that is still the case or if it still uses the wrong translation.
Meta AI was added to WhatsApp quite recently which has been gaining a lot of grounds. I haven’t used it personally but, in the group, I am in with my former course mates, they just tend to make use and make fun of meta-AI a lot. We have this one guy in the group who always starts the trouble. He’ll randomly come out of nowhere and interact with meta in a way that is funny.
Aside using AI to chat, I occasionally use my Iphone’s Siri for simple activities. I can ask Siri to set an alarm or a timer. I do that because it’s faster than going into the phone’s clock and setting it myself.
There are a lot more uses of AI that people have exploited and are using to their advantage. Health professionals use AI to help their course while financial, art lovers and agricultural people use it to help them as well.
What AI tool do you use the most? What do you think about AI? Share with us by participation in InLeo's calendar prompts. This is my response to day 12 of InLeo's June calendar prompts.
Thank you.
