Today was not like every other day, people stared at me with so many thoughts running through their minds as I walked through the market. I also got some congratulatory messages because my forehead was marked.
It was not marked with a rod or scar but with ashes. Today marks the start of the season of Lent which embodies these three criteria- prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
A period where Christians go into self to draw out purposefulness and oneness in spirit and truth.
Today was both St. Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday. There were no gifts but loads of love shared with the broadest smiles.
I went for afternoon mass then went to the market to get some items I would need to sew.
I was so tired and came home to rest. I engaged on Hive for a bit and made a post in the evening. At night, I sewed and watched ‘The Good Doctor’ series.
I am alive and grateful. Hope you are too.
