Hello readers! I returned from a weekend in Canada celebrating my 61st birthday with my best friend and her husband yesterday evening. I was eager to get on the road Friday for the two-and-a-half-hour truck trip. We arrived at 7:30 at our friends and the gentleman went out for pizza while my best friend and I opted for a nice hot tub soak.
Saturday my friend and I shopped for clothes while our husbands worked on a project modifying a set of office file cabinets into an outdoor entertainment table by creating a removable table top.
I like Canadian clothes deals after my currency exchange discount. One item I purchased was a one-piece Speedo brand swimsuit for $14 CAD. Of course, I had to try the suit on Saturday evening in the hot tub after dinner on the grill and a slice of my friend's blue icing, handmade lemon and fruit-filled cake.
My husband, Jeff, surprised me with a black Michael Kohrs duffle bag and a lovely gift bag full of luxury bath soaps, body creams, a delicious-smelling bath scrub, and my favorite perfume, Liz Claiborne's Boro Bora, which can't be purchased in stores now.
All good things must come to an end. We returned home Sunday around 7 pm.
