!INDEED not sure why they wanted the extra step. I assume the chat function is not publishing onto the blockchain, but to a database, meaning that I would prefer my blockchain published functions to be extra secured, not the db ones, as they can be changed, but the blockchain ones are immutable….

Yes, good point, Ecency's chats are likely not on the Blockchain. PeakD's I think are, though, as I heard that you can upvote comments there too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

While the #Ecency Chat does not publish on the Hive blockchain, it is faster (much faster than the 3-second block time on Hive), mutable (in case you want to delete your sent messages), and does not cost Resource Credits (which new Hive accounts would lack). 🤓 It still uses the Hive blockchain for authenticating the Hive user sending and receiving messages. 😏
