Interesting how Blockchain started being very niche with a rather small community, back when you found those forums that looked straight like a console. Now we have not just the Blockchain and their users but organizations educating, promoting, and facilitating the use of multiple Blockchain and the web3 as a whole.
ICP is one example. They are a web3 organization that aims to bring the Blockchain technology around the world. They have different Hubs in different countries, and if your country doesn't have one and you think it could benefit from it, you can apply to create said Hub.
Recently, ICP Hub Korea decided to partner with Fandomdao, a Blockchain created for Art Fans, to host all the fandoms and verify their identity as member of one with a NFT, that will allows them to do things like buying tickets for events without worrying for bots.
Fandomdao was able to win more than a million users in just a few weeks, from which the participation rate is more than 95%, making it a great success and capturen the attention of the ICP Community. It has a seamless signing up system and merges very well web2 and web3.
The alliance between ICP Hub Korea and Fandomdao pretends to challenge the dominance of other big tech companies on the industry, and provide Fandomdao with a high level computing power that ICP manages.
And I have to say, reading this, I'm not a person that goes to concerts or actually see the power behind this having any impact on my context, but the fact that this is ICP Korea, says a lot.
Why It's a great move for the Korean market
Korea has a vibrant economy based on fandoms, Kpop and Kdrama are a huge industry, I don't think local musicians and artist experience the same level of die-hard fandoms in other countries. And I know about Tylor Swift fans, but Korean K-pop fans and on another level. And we also know, in the crypto world, Korea is also a giant that create waves in the market.
This could be an interesting use of blockchain technology to solve the problem of re-sellers, bots on the buy pages, could also ensure fairness on the VIP access and other perks, while don't creating gaps to be abused. It's a great use case that can help with seamless adoption of users that leverage blockchain tech while not even knowing they are doing it.
The alliance could help with the scalability, providing the computing power to manage such a transaction-heavy business. And with the different Hubs around the world, could help with the geographical scalability.
Hope you liked it, until the next time
