Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

This Is Worst Case.

Now this is something that is very old but has a very new problem!
These things never tend to burnout or actually break the gears! If they don't leak oil they will most likely never ever even break!

Let it run on the road without oil for five minutes and watch it burnout like nothing else!

Much like life right? Performing under the right set of circumstances can make you go places but if not it can drive you down into the ground real fast!

This specific transmission really made a whole lot of creepy noises when we drove it!

Intentional Or Not?

Well that is something we would never truely be able to find out now is it!

This looks like it was intentional though, the entire transmission and everything under the hood was totally smeared with a whole lot of oil, it appeared as if it was leaking for months!

This makes so much more sense now in truth, as the oil burnt to the casing it revealed that this was infact one of the major leaks on the transmission and no doubt the one that drove it into the ground.

There is a oil channel running right behind the hole punched into the seal, so the oil was forced out of this transmission over time.

A Nasty Set Of Circumstances!

Yeahp, it ran dry!

Now this is something that I have never seen in my life! Never!

A DSG transmission burning out? Only intentionally yes!

Now in these photos there is one thing that is pretty clear and that would be that there is a great deal of teeth in it right!

Laughs, well most of those teeth are warped to shit!
That happens when you drive without any oil!

Split To Bits!

Well it is really just getting worse and worse the deeper I delve into this transmission!

I am keen on knowing for how long it was actually driving before it finally gave in and didn't shift anymore!

At a quick glance it really doesn't look like there could be much wrong with it right? Something I want to add is that I drained less than 200ml of oil from the transmission!

Hectic right!

A Grinding Situation!

Now what will it cost to replace and fix all of these broken parts?

It's not something I hope for but I have a feeling this client won't be fixing this transmission. Not from looking at the general maintenance towards his car.

It has been neglected for years and now something finally gave in and it's the worst possible thing that could have, at-least it ain't the damned motor!
