A Hybrid Of Sorts?

Well they aren't really called hybrids at all hey, it's still just an automatic transmission, although lately I've gotten this belief that even though something is a automatic transmission and it still has gears in like a manual transmission... well can you really call it a auto box after all?

No I don't think so at all but as much as you can't call it a auto, you can also not call it a manual... so what exactly is it?

A Mistake Perhaps?

Jokes aside though it's a real fun transmission to tear down!

The Beauty Of It!

This is something that one has to admire, really you do.

This in it self just randomly looks pretty damn beautifull to me!

I spoke to bossman the other day and we were busy polishing gear selector shafts and right before we were done he made a sort of a pattern on it and I absolutely loved the idea of it! Like nobody will ever even know about it, no one except me and bossman!

Well to which he replied, I like the idea of it because I have an admiration for steel and everything steel!

Always The Blurry Ones

Now I know I'm not the best photographer that is out there but damn if this one didn't turn out blurry I might have made it the cover photo. It would have looked so damned cool if all of those delicate parts actually wasn't dirty!

Now what I did here was gather most and all of the sensitive parts, such as the oil pump and the forward clutches and filters and metal gaskets, damn there's a lot!
You don't want any of those pinned in between some gears and have them damaged if you may still need to use it!

It Makes Sense!

So I do think I know why we have to rebuild this transmission, and the reason is very simple actually!

The forward clutch set is about the same size as those we remove from the Ford Ranger pickups! It's absurd that a truck would have such a small clutch pack!

Think about this for a moment, it's a truck and the truck can take loads of up to eight tons! Eight tons on a clutch meant to pull no more than three tons!

Damn I wish there were more of these trucks driving around!
