Friends, I hope you all are happy and healthy. Friends, this is the night traveling photography done by me. Although we always like to travel during the day, but night actually gives a different pleasure of traveling in itself. The night before yesterday, I boarded a train from my home and went to see a beautiful monument built in Aurangabad, Maharashtra state, which has a very long history and is approximately 360 years old.
This is a building known as Bibi Ka Maqbara which was built by Prince Muhammad Azam Shah of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Mohammad Azam Shah was the son of Aurangzeb i.e. the grandson of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The reason for building this tomb was that like Shahjahan's wife Mumtaz, Aurangzeb had built this tomb from Azam Khan in the memory of his wife Rabia-ul-Rehman. Rabia-ul Rehman died of infection after giving birth to her fifth son. Therefore, this tomb was built by Aurangzeb from Prince Azamshah in the memory of Rabia-ul-Rehman.
It is said that this tomb would have been even more beautiful because the purpose of building this tomb was that it was to be built exactly like Aurangzeb's mother Mumtaz Mahal i.e. Taj Mahal, but due to Aurangzeb reducing the budget, its size was reduced to some extent. It became different and the design of this mausoleum became even more different and it became a distinct architectural identity.
To build this tomb, marble stones have been used which were brought from Jaipur city of Rajasthan state. The cost of making it was around Rs 7 lakh in 1660, which in today's times could be more than Rs 700 crosses. The mausoleum has been built like the Taj Mahal. The tomb is made of four walls and is also divided into four sections. Also, there are small minarets in every direction i.e. on all four sections and the entire tomb is also surrounded by four minarets. In the middle of the mausoleum is the tomb of Bibi Rabia-ul-Rahman which is made of marble.
Rabia-ul-Durrani is buried underground, but her tomb is made of solid marble and the tomb is surrounded by an octagonal lattice made of solid marble. I hope you liked the photography and a small glimpse of history given by me.
