Rusty
Good Morning and have a great day
Now before I get into todays post I will share a thought that passed through my mind this morning as I was scrolling through social media feeds
Back when I was growing up, before the times of Social Media, heck before the internet even, Experts in any field were not that common I Guess i would say, but scrollign social media fields I am amazed and perhaps feeling a bit inadequate and why is that you may ask
ON any given day you will see so many people posting their expertise ona wide range of subjects, of recent its been it seems so many are experts on Aviation including but not limited to air traffic control, flying a plane, flying a helicopter etc etc etc and from one short video they have seen online they can explain it all and assign blame,
But its not limited to that, on other days you will se epeople experts on Climate Change, Politics, Sport, Infectious deseases, etc etc the list goes on and on.
But what could make one feel inadequate is some of the people you see sharing their expertise are experts in all these fields, and little old me, not sure i would say I am an expert in any field maybe proficient in a couple of fields, but WOW these people are experts in every field out there, WOW isnt that Amazing
BUT, NO ITS NOT AMAZING, THEY ARE NOT EXPERTS IN ALL THESE FIELDS THEY JUST HAVE INFLATED EGOS AND LIKE TO THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT EVERYTHING AND ANYONE WHO DOESNT AGREE WITH THEM IS AN IDIOT!!
So do your own research make your own opinions based on real information you can find and take these social media experts info with the worth it deserves which in many cases is worthless
Perhaps I am one who tries to see the positive in everything, maybe to much so but I am not sure thats a bad thing, especially these days on social media we see so much negativity these days, people always willing to take cheap shots to belittle someone else, I would love to see a change and more positivity, kindness and support for others, but maybe thats a pipe dream that will never come to be, but I can but hope.
And in that line of thought this morning and thinking about what to share today it came to me there is beauty all around us if we are willing to open our eyes and indeed also open our minds and look around for it.
And while thinking that I remembered a somewhat recent, ie before this really cold spell when I took a day time walk around the port, which is so different from my normal walks there before and durign sunrise, there are so many details one doesnt notice when it is darker.
And I spotted a lot of rust, and to most rust is far from beautiful, more annoying and damaging i guess, but in my positive mind set I think in the right light and in the right framing even rust can be beautiful, lets see if you agree after seeing the shots I share today
Starting with a chain and bolt

and next up a pulley, rusted with wear over the years, but When I see it I focus not so much on the rust, but what has caused the rust, its on a commercial fishing boat and probably has a wire that runs through it when poulling in the catch, without this rusty pulley maybe your last or next meal of fish wouldnt be available

Again inthe same vein, a rusty portion of a fishing boat rusted dented and worn but still out there most days catching fish for us all
