My early tech obsessions with symbian/Nokia device

in Hive Naija2 days ago

Compliment of the season to every member of this community and beyond, I had a good thought about this prompt, at least I have seen when some tech were made alive and I know how they were, compared to how there are now now.

The very truth behind so many sweet technology today will shock you how it started if you care to make research and reviews about them, technology then was really expensive due to the value of our dear currency to the U.S dollars, those that know understands what I'm talking about.

You may want to argue but first make confirmations from any body with the right information and experience. I'm talking about when you were rich if you had a thousand naira, this money can do so much in a person's life 😀 but here it is today, you really can't afford something tangible with the same about..
Now I had to bring in that example to tell you what technology did in our life back then. It now looks simple and easy, which makes it a lifestyle that everyone tries to live to the standard.

My dear Java! You will forever remain in my heart, although the world has left you behind, but I can't preach less of how good you were to me even to my friends, you did a great job in my life, by exposing me to the internet, through you I was able to learn a lot about technology, follow trends, make informed decisions, and also widens my thinking perspectives.

I really miss the days of Java phones, I can remember how I will be on 2go chatting, playing solid java games with friends, the likes of GTA, mission impossible, farcry and some that I can't remember.
That was when Nairaland was really popular, every in Nigeria and in the whole world where using Nairaland as the or major social media, then Facebook wasn't known among the people.

I feel java developers were really good developers considering that tech was still under discovery, they made this phones in a way it was capable of doing what more advanced phones could do but in a smaller version and capacity, because we were able to browse the internet with this small phone, I was really contented, I felt I have arrived.

Those java phones were built in away that it doesn't easily have issues, it was durable and smart.
If we were given a chance to go back to our early days to make use of one thing we loved, I would definitely go with my Nokia phone.
I remember how I was sick for days when my first phone which was a Java phones was stolen, I couldn't go out, I was really broken. It showed so badly that people around me promise to get me new phone just so I can stop thinking and crying about the stolen phone. It was really crazy back then.

The memories are still fresh, and I'm really grateful that I was opportuned to test tech while I growing.

This is in response to the hivenaija weekly prompt week 77.

I wasn't among those who used nairaland, I actually found out it exists not quite long ago 🥲
Java phones and their strong made 😅
So much memories.

Well why didn't you like Nairaland

Lol I didn't say I don't like it, I didn't know about it until recently.

Oh okay nice one then, Nairaland is very broad for all kinds of contents, it's a nice place although not popular as before

Yeah, I've browsed through it before.

That time we knew these phones as Chinko because they were so strong. But phones then were good

Just like you I also love those tech back then, from java to symbian, one thing I like about them most was the games.

It was real bro, good to know we had the same interest.
