(Eng / Esp) #BeerSaturday Challenge (Week 343): Hollandia

in BEER10 months ago

Greetings at the beginning of the week, friends of the BEER community. After my post last week, in which I think I learned something more about beers, thanks to the comments of some of you, today I have returned to participate in the contest corresponding to week 343. This is #BeerSaturday week 343, and I would like to invite @edwing357 to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I had another beer to share with you, and I hope that this time my choice is not wrong. This is HOLLANDIA, whose price here, where I currently live, is 1.5 US$ per can. Let's get to know this beer!

THE BEER / LA CERVEZA

On this occasion I see that this beer is imported, and is not manufactured in Colombia like the ones I shared in my first and second posts in this community. I deduce this from the information on the can on the front and side. As I see, it is manufactured in Holland. According to the information that can be read, the components of this beer are: water, barley malt, glucose syrup, hop extract, I no longer see that they use rice in the preparation of this drink; so I deduce that it sticks to the original recipe.

Another important information it brings is its alcohol level, which is 5%. On the other side of the can, I notice that it has warnings regarding how harmful alcohol consumption can be for pregnant women, as well as its barcode and icons that indicate that it is a disposable and recyclable container.

Now to open it, serve it and taste this beer, which has a content of 0.33 cl. It's encouraging to see the foam forming when you open the can, I think I'll like it.

On this occasion I used a different cup holder, it is from Solera, a good Venezuelan beer, which I hope to share with you in the future, and I have served it in the same Polar glass. I see a good layer of foam being made, which is good. Now, upon tasting it, this beer is much more robust than the previous two, and although its flavor is less sweet, it is not unpleasant to my palate. The smell is also deeper, I like to feel some notes that remind me of wood, maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I perceived.

Here I end my post today, the third in this wonderful community and in this contest, in which I have shared a good beer: HOLLANDIA. Cheers!

¡Salud!

It doesn't :) Can you imagine brewers using glucose syrup and hop extract in say the 16th century? :)

Some beer styles traditionally contain rice, some Japanese for instance. Budweiss lager does not, though.

Hi @godfish!

It's a pleasure to see you here. Well, I will say something, in my country, compared to other countries, there is little beer culture, and I don't mean consumption, but manufacturing. Although there have been some artisanal factories, with the crisis that we have experienced for two decades (approximately), these have been disappearing.

For now, I share with you my experience when tasting these beers, which are the ones I can get where I live (by the way, I live in a rural area of my country), because I value the sensory experience I have when drinking them. Just being able to appreciate the flavor, the smell, the color of the beers is something valuable to me, and at the same time the learning experience I have when reading the posts of connoisseurs and the comments on my posts.

Thank you very much for your visit. Happy week!

Then you may get at least a bit of overwiev by reading other #beersaturday and #beer posts. People sample various beers of various styles and share their thoughts there.

I have come to this community at the invitation of @detlev, an invitation that I greatly appreciate, because it allows me to learn more about a very special drink, and of course I read the posts of other colleagues, because it is a way to learn and share; in addition to bringing the beers that I get here, where I live.

I appreciate your interest in my content and your interaction @godfish . Hugs!

Note: Whenever you like, you are invited to the gastronomic communities under my care: Foodies Bee Hive, Amazing Drinks (here you can publish any other drink, except beer and coffee) and Plant Power (Vegan), you surely have excellent recipes to share.

I might check them out, but I am rather too much on the beer side I'd say :))

Hahahahaha, ok!

Hello friend, I'm a little late hahaha, my connection has failed a lot, but not my taste for the good things in life as a cold beer hahaha

I know a little about the area where you live, I know how difficult it is to get a beer from another country to make comparisons, so I admire your energy to always share good content with us.

I will see if I can join you with a beer very soon and share my experience with everyone.

Thanks for the invitation

P.S that beer goes very well with my lunch today. 😊

Hi,nice to see you here @edwing357! Thanks for the visit, well, you know, you are invited to this weekly contest. Yes, where I live it is an issue, since it is a rural area, but we do what we can, there is a limited supply of beers; and yes, I think this beer goes well with lunch, especially on these hot days. Hugs!

See you soon, I'm looking forward to having a beer hahaha

The can alone signifies it's origin base on its name. Also, its combination of ingredients are ok and I know you greatly enjoyed it.

Wishing you the best

Thank you very much for your kind comment, well yes, I enjoyed it, there is nothing better than having a cold beer to cool down the heat. Greetings @marajah !
