On December 24, 2023, I attended a christening ceremony at Uling, Naga City, Cebu. Little did I know that this would be more than a spectator's journey. I was surprised I was about to become a godparent, a role that revealed itself as the holy proceedings commenced. All I know is that my boyfriend is the godfather. Since the mother of baby Kindreck, my newfound godson, happens to be the niece of my boyfriend, who himself stood as one of the godparents.
The ceremony began with the Holy Mass, a precursor to the sacrament of baptism that would soon unite over 20 babies with the divine grace of the sacred ritual.
The ceremony was a sacred and joyous occasion, with each baby receiving the profound gift of baptism. Amidst the ritual, I discreetly captured moments through my phone camera, freezing in time the sacredness and purity of the ceremony.
As the priest started the sacrament of baptism, I couldn't help but be moved by the profound symbolism of each gesture.
The gentle touch of holy water on the foreheads of these tiny beings marked the initiation of their spiritual voyage. The significance was not lost on me, it was a symbolic cleansing, a welcoming into the folds of faith and community. I have here picture captured by hazel photography.
After the sacrament of Baptism, the air was filled with warmth and celebration. Family and friends gathered, sharing smiles and creating lasting memories. Despite the simplicity of the event, its significance was remarkable. The babies, including my godson, were now officially part of a spiritual community, embraced by the love and blessings showered upon them during this meaningful celebration.

The day served as a reminder of the importance of traditions and the sense of community that such events bring.
We left the church at Uling with a heart full of gratitude for being part of baby Kindreck's blessed beginnings and the joyous Christening celebration that united families in faith and love.
