Memoir Monday #19 - What early memories do you have of your sibling(s)?

in Silver Bloggers4 months ago

Greetings my dear Hiveans and to all those wonderful members of the silver bloggers community. Memories always light up and flow in, when given an opportunity to put in writing. A weekly prompt from @ericvancewalton to be posted in #memoirmonday welcomes you dear friends.

What early memories do you have of your siblings?

We are 3 siblings. My brother being the eldest followed by we 2 sisters. Iam the middle one in the family. My brother is older to me by 2 years and sister younger to me by 5 years. My family Album is at my parent's home so I do not have any of our childhood photos.

My home where I and my siblings grew with lots of fights and loads of happiness

Growing up with siblings was real fun. Their were times when we did the worst or when we got into problems and finally getting threatened by one of the sibling "I will report to Dad". To overcome this issue, we used to bribe the other with their favorite things.

The best part was, if any problem arises, we were together. If anything goes wrong, all three of us, are questioned. But we stick on to one answer "I don't know".

Me and my sister with family

All three of us studied in the same defense school. And as my brother won the sports championship title every year, we sisters were also famous in school. Indeed a proud moment.

My brother

But every time it's not the same. Sometimes my brother behaves strict. Once, it so happened, during my graduation, we had no classes. So I and my friends, around 10 to 12 of us, decided to go for a movie instead of going home. Those were in early 90's. One of our friend had a Maruti Van, a one time famous vehicle. So we all jumped into it happily, as though going for a picnic.

Its nice to recollect these moments. After reaching the theater, we knew the tickets are already sold out. The only option that remained was to purchase tickets in black, meaning getting the ticket for double or triple times, its
original price. And this also was done successfully.

So excitedly we rushed towards the theatre door, when one of my friends stopped me, telling me to look aside. I turned around to look, only to find my brothet was staring at me. My heart beat increased not knowing what to do. But then I realised he was also with his gang of friends, which meant, Iam on the safe side from my parent's.

But when I reached home, I found my brother and mom at the door, my brother on the verge to pounce at me. I understood I was caught. But at the same time defended me saying its not always safe to travel so far, due to unexpected happenings in the state.

I was more close to my brother, rather than my sister during those years. We used to share so many things in common. Coming from a middle class family, it was not easy for my Dad to fulfill all our needs. So, when my brother got his first job after graduation, he tried to fulfill the needs of his sisters. He even subscribed a woman's magazine that I was after.

Today all three of us are in different places with our own family members. During vacations we gather together and sit late hours sharing stories of one's respective job, future of our children, food, friends etc.

Those were golden days, even if we wish to go back, we can't. So touching. Days fly off equally with our aging. So never keep any grudges, just move on by taking care of our dear ones.

The photographs are my own private property, retrieved from my phone gallery and the text typed are mine, to the best to my knowledge.

Thanks for your time . Wishing you all a great day.
