        Fun fact -

        “Were” in this context is derived from Old English “wer”, meaning “man” — or more generically, “person”. So essentially, a “werewolf” is a “man-wolf

        So a person-cougar might sound made up, but there's no reason we can't have a weredonkey - a person who turns into a donkey on the full moon!
