Updates on New Version of Hive Distrion App
Ban/Unban Admin UX
- Today, My aim was to complete feature to ban & unban admin on the front-end side.
- We did manage to complete in time today & here is how it looks.
Dynamic Menu Items based on user type
- Total number of menu items (so far), which are shown to user, are as follows.
- We've also added Owner & Guide menu items.
- This menu items will appear based on the user priviledges.
- If an admin logs in, we don't show admin menu item. Show businesses, guides & owners menu items.
- If a business guide logs in, we don't show admins, guides, owners menu. Only businesses menu item.
- If an owner logs in, we don't show admins, guides, owners menu. Only businesses.
- If a regular user logs in, we only show businesses
- Here is what a regular user is going to get as menu items if he/she logs in.
- The reason, you see old-claim-experience in the background, is a different branch. While taking that screenshot, I was working on a different branch.
How?
- How does the front-end know that this user is admin & that user is guide?
- For this, I had to update the login API.
- In response of log-in API, now we are also sending the type of the user.
- Based on it, UX can populate menu items accordingly.

Updates: Video Encoder Nodes
- I'm running 12 powerful video encoder nodes for 3Speak Community Members.
- Monthly internet bandwidth usage which exceeds 15 TB, Maintenance cost, Electricity backup, Internet backup, Depreciation cost - it's all on me.
- On 2024-05-24, 3Speak published total 116 videos.
- My video encoder nodes encoded 104 videos from 116 videos published.
- It means, my encoder nodes encoded 89.66 % of total videos published on 2024-05-24
