🐦# INTRODUCTION:
Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ should be ready to defend that belief (faith) at every level. Though it can result to death. Anything good is worth dying for, that was how Deacon Stephen saw it that fateful day and decided to die for his faith in Christ. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are our case study in this short discourse.
💔# CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
While everyone claims to be a devoted Christian, only a handful can stand in defence of their faith in Christ.
🔐🔑# KEY VERSE:
But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children (Isaiah 49:25).
📕# BIBLE TEXT:
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter (Daniel 3:16).
🪒🔊# MAIN DISCOURSE
It's quite easy to act like a Christian; but the defence of it can only be done by a few.
The question is, how many of our Christian brothers and sisters can endure pain as a result of their faith in Christ?
Are you aware that persecution is one of the ingredients of Christianity?
During persecutions, you either stand in defence of your faith in Christ or you lose it.
According to our text for today, the three Hebrew boys stood in defence of their faith in the presence of the king Nebuchadnezzar, before whom the world trembled and fled. They stood their ground and defended their faith.
One day, you'll be required to either defend your faith or lose it.
Many believers have been unable to defend their faith in the face of persecution from the world, family and friends. Some can't stand in the face of hardship and the wants of this life.
If you can't stand in defence of your faith you have failed the Master.
At different times in life your conviction in Christ will always be tested.
The battle against the body of Christ continues to intensify and You must be prepared to defend your faith in Christ in order not to lose it so cheaply.
