SPIRITUAL PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (SPD) // 17TH AUGUST 2024 // CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS

in FreeSpeech4 months ago

🐦INTRODUCTION:
King David of Israel, in his dubious actions against an innocent subject of his kingdom, even killed him and took his wife, asked God for forgiveness in genuine repentance and confession, God Almighty responded positively. God forgave the King and declared that he is a man after His own heart.
We are going to talk about genuine repentance and confession, how they draw Forgiveness to us from the Almighty Jehovah.

💔CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
God forgives our darkest wrongdoing (sins) when we come to Him in humility, honesty and sincerity.

🔐🔑KEY VERSES:

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy (Proverbs 28:13 KJV).

📕BIBLE TEXT:
Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:8-10 (KJV)

🪒🔊MAIN DISCOURSE. No one enjoys admitting to sin, either due to shame and embarrassment, or sometimes pride. Sin separates us from God and distance from Him is not what we desire. During confession of our sins, we must be sincere. Though, it is very clear to God already every mistake we’ve made and dark thought that’s crossed our mind, we cannot truly repent unless we are honest with ourselves about each transgression. God forgives our darkest wrongdoing when we come to Him in humility, honesty and sincerity.

📢DECLARATION:
If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I come to you a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' name - Amen."

🙏PRAYER
Dear God, please pardon us for hiding our sins from you. Our sins are before you, even before we repent so there is no reason to be deceptive. When we confess our sins to You, it brings out the love in You, Your loving kindness is made manifest and we are better for it. A broken heart and a contrite spirit You will not despise (Ps.51:17). Thank You, Lord for mercy, In Jesus’ name - Amen.
