🎇 SUBJECT:

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

📕TODAY'S TEXT:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16.

🔑🔐 KEY VERSE:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

💞 CENTRAL TRUTH:

Because there was nothing we did for God to make Him love us, we should also love and serve Him whether or not He does anything for us.

🖊️ MAIN DISCOURSE:

We are in a generation that bargains with God. It's quite unfortunate that Christians give God conditions to serve Him in spirit and in truth.

Some even want God to remove every temptation on their way so that they can serve Him faithfully. What a shame!

In our text for today, scripture declares, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

The word "loved" is past tense. It implies that even before you were born, God already loved you. Glory to God!

By implication, there was nothing that you did to attract this love. He gave it unconditionally.

Why do most believers want to do things for God just because they want Him to do certain things for them?

There was nothing on offer for the three Hebrew boys, but they chose to burn in Nebuchadnezzar's furnace, rather than to bow down to the image of the king.

If God chooses not to grant your request, will you still follow Him faithfully?

If your love and service for God is tied to something, you don't truly LOVE Him.

He loved us unconditionally. we ought to also LOVE Him unconditionally.

🔥CALL TO SURRENDER

"If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I come to you a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' name - Amen."

🙏PRAYER:

Father, help me to love you unconditionally, in Jesus' name - Amen.
