First of all, special thanks to @ph1102 for hosting the Hive Humpday Hangout aka #HHHLive for 20 episodes now! Being on Hive for more than 2.5 years, I always read about meetups and events like Hive Fest, and I have been curious about these sessions and have been trying to find opportunities to participate more actively in the community.
However, there were always many limitations. For example, most of the events are held in Europe and it's not so easy for me to travel over. Then I chanced upon the Hive Humpday Hangout, but the timing was very late (1am for my local time) for me, and I needed to work the next day, so I have always given it a miss.
But last week, the show was shifted 1 hour earlier, which translated to midnight for my local time. It was still late - but I told myself that why not give this a shot? It's not everyday these events come along, and I could always catch up on my sleep on another day.
And it was super fun! I didn't expect myself to talk to because after all, this was my first time joining and there were probably many regulars doing the talking as well. But coincidentally, the topic was stepping out of my comfort zone and I actually did a mini sharing, which was not easy for someone who is very introverted. I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone that night. Lol!
I shared my experience of going for a summer exchange programme for Mexico, and I visited many cities during my 7 weeks there. And the cover photo is one of them! It's Centro Historico de Morelia, and I remembered taking this shot from my hotel balcony. The sky and the lights were so mesmerising!
Aside from sharing, it was fun to listen sharings from different people across various parts of the world. I think English isn't the first language for some of us, but we were still able to understand one another. For me, the more interesting sharings were from @alex-rourke and @palomap3 and the community was really nice and friendly. It's such a nice feeling to just chill and have a casual chat with Hivians.
And if you are keen to join the subsequent sessions, do check this post out and look out for updates from @ph1102 too! Of course, you can join the Ecency Discord channel to keep track of the events as well!
So that's it for my thoughts on a Monday! Have a great week ahead! :)
