Hello dear Hiveans and music lovers. I'd like to acquaint you with one glorious name today: Alexey Rybnikov. This soviet composer is responsible for soundtracks for more than 100 films, plays, cartoons, a couple of rock operas and much more. He is no doubts one of the great composers of the bygone twentieth century. Many of us grew up to his music and became acquainted with the drama of life along with these soundtracks. Some of the main themes of his music are loneliness, love, space adventures... Probably this name will not say too much for non-Russian auditoria, but lets see.
Song about misers, braggarts and fools
«Buratino» was the Russian adaptation of «Pinocchio» story (pretty much different to original). Soundtrack to this movie is a stunning gem, impossible to choose one, or two, or three best tracks of it, they are all same quality level. I included into my selection a song 'about fools...' because it is accompanied with a funny videofeed cut from the movie, in addition to Pinocchio himself (do you recognize this long nose?), you can see here Alice the Fox and Basilio the Cat. Delicious! The song reminds us not to be a fool and not believe to everything they tell you; don’t let yourself be manipulated by any crooks!
Tatiana's dreams
Said movie is dramatic story happened during summer vacays between a young man and a girl, a story about love (with a happy ending). This and the next track, are often included into Rybnikov's compilations of 'lovesongs'. Can you make any connections with French pop music from 60-es?..
