I really want to thank God for yet another privilege to participate in the MCGI indoctrination program I have been away for a very long time but I thank God I'm back on my feet and I truly have missed the church of God family even to the resounding voice of our beloved Brother Eli may God continue to bless you sir
Today I learnt another dimension of teaching on baptism I have never heard before Brother Eli started by telling us the true meaning of baptism which he said is the washing away of our sins especially the sin we inherited from the first man Adam for us to be transformed from the old man to the new man in Christ we must be baptized because it is a commandment from God as seen in the book of Titus 3:5 Christ saved us from our sin and gave us a new life which we can only obtain through the washing away of our sin which is call baptism if we are not baptized it means we have not taken the new nature of Christ and we can not have the gift of the Holy Spirit spirit
The bible in the book of Acts of the Apostles22:16 encourages us not to procrastinate our baptism but should be done as soon as one accept Christ as our Lord and personal saviour that way the we can become a full member of the body of Christ
Also brother Eli taught that there is the God acceptable way of baptism and the right place to be baptized, baptism is not done by sprinkling of water like some religion do that is not the true baptism ordained by God and it shouldn't be done without the person's consent like baptizing a newly born baby with sprinkling of water the child doesn't even know what is happening before a baptism must take place the individual involved must know the actual meaning of baptism and the best way instructed by God is to deep the person into the water and raise him up that is the commandment we should obey it as regards to baptism
It is also important to know that baptism should not be done anywhere except the place God instructed it which is in the church of God Reading from the book of Ezra7:23 it said that every commandment of God should be fully obeyed and carried out in the house of God so since baptism is a commandment from God it should be carried out in the house of God and the house of God is equally the church of God that is why we must learn how to behave rightly and wisely in the house of God as instructed in 1 Timothy3:15 our character should be the one worthy of emulation just like our head which is Christ and also it is only in the name of God The Father The Son and The Holy Spirit that one can be baptized Matthew28:19
Let our delight be in obeying the word of God and to be doers of His words not just hearing only by so doing we will attract the blessings of God
