I'm writing the log of the day early. This Friday has been good, although it started off a bit hectic, but then everything has calmed down. My brother needed help with a bank transfer, but his computer is failing, and when I was doing it, all kinds of incidents happened that complicated things for us. From the notification that my bank's phone number had expired, to a repeated drop in my Internet service. Luckily, everything was resolved more or less quickly, and I managed to make the transfer.

I'm not doing any serious work on my email, which gives me an idea that I'll have a quiet day, but it also means that potential income continues to decrease. As I said yesterday, I have to look for other things that I can do and generate income again.

Other than that, there's not much to tell about my offline life, so I'm going to comment on a celebration that I already mentioned in my post yesterday. Today we celebrate International Chocolate Day.

I like #food celebrations, largely because I like to eat. I'm lucky to always have a slim build, and I don't overdo it with the quantities, and that helps me to be able to eat a lot of variety without worrying about gaining weight.

And if we add that #chocolate is a delight, you already understand the reason I choose to comment on this event today.

The celebration of the international day of chocolate takes place on September 13, this date was decided because it coincides with a pair of births of two men, each of them important in their own field, and who contributed to the popularization of chocolate. These are Milton Snavely Hershey (born today, in 1853) and Roald Dahl (born in 1916, on a day like today), the first one I mention was an American businessman, who was also a confectioner, philanthropist, and founder of the chocolate company: “The Hershey Chocolate Company”. The second one I mention, was a British writer, author of stories and popular children's literature, poet, screenwriter, and soldier in times of war; his works have such an impact that he can be considered as one of the best storytellers for children of the 20th century,

Hershey's relationship with chocolate is obvious, his emblematic company is built from this product, even when he sought to establish the headquarters of his company. He thought of the best to produce a chocolate of a superior quality, which led him to even build a town in the town that he considered met his expectations. This man took milk chocolate to a new level of popularity, mass-produced it, and sought to make it attractive to new markets and new generations.

For his part, Dahl also has an obvious connection, it is one of his best-known works of children's literature, his novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” It is an entertaining adventure of a child from a poor family, a mysterious factory that produces chocolate without knowing anything about its internal processes, and a contest that can open the doors of this factory for a small group of lucky people. There are several adaptations of this book, and there are two films that brought the story to the big screen, one in 1971 (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) and another in 2005 (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

I saw both films in their time, and I have to say that I enjoyed them quite a bit, each one responded to the aesthetics of its time, and to the creativity of its directors, but each one was quite entertaining and explored interesting things. I think they made a very entertaining adaptation of the book.

But, let's get back to the matter of celebrating chocolate. When I looked back at how long this celebration has existed, I found that it is relatively recent, having been established in 1995, and it is not the only day of international celebration for this culinary delight. Personally, I don't mind celebrating chocolate, or meals that include chocolate, several times a year (personal smile).

Well, it's time for me to say goodbye, wishing you to have chocolate in your life, that you are well and that we can meet again another time.

Uuuuhh, so much childhood memories come up if I read about Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. 💚💚💚

The 70s movie brings back quite a few memories :)

Although the recent version, by Burton, is good (in its own way), I have a certain preference for the retro aesthetic 😀👍📽️🍿
