You NEVER want government to try and regulate prices. It only leads to absolute chaos. Look at history in places like Russia and others who tried communist regimes. They fixed prices and it completely destroys loca business

No, sadly it does not. We need governments for some things but NOT for prices. It is also called subsidies. Subsidies destroy markets because it artificially props up certain groups or players and hurts those who don't get the subsidies. There are a lot of great people who have written about the dangers of subsidies.
A well-known example of subsidies is in America, the government subsidizes corn production. Now so much of the food is filled with pesticides and the garbage Corn Syrup as a sweetener instead of less processed things like Cane Sugar. There are lots more examples, but that is an easy one to find!
