Hello friends,
The holiday season is over. So is the nice weather. These days we have severe cold and temperatures around minus 7°C. The wind was so strong and it feels minus 17°C. Brrr. Even without wind in some places the feeling is the same, like in my workplace. It is not windy, but it is bloody cold. No chance to see, let alone to photograph any bird in such weather. Hiding in the warm room all I can do is to find photos from previous days. And here we go.
Hawfinch
There is a small area with trees and shrubs where it was packed with small birds. Hawfinches gather on top. Their songs or calls are not loud, but can be heard and unmistakably recognized. Their bill in a shape of a cone is very strong and they can crack the fruit kernels.
Great tit
I left some seeds and I was happy to see the tit was checking and picking them.
The Great tits are numerous and mixed with the Common finches.
Common finches with its brown plumage hide among the fallen leaves and hardly can be spotted.
Blue tit
This is another small cutie. Very acrobatic, slightly smaller than the Great tit.
Well, you may guess why I have today only small birds to share. That's right. Because the prompt for this week in #SMaP (Show me a photo Contest) is Small Birds. I am expecting your entries and if you missed the contest post, here is the link - Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 148. You still have time to submit your entries till Sunday.
Happy birding!
Thank you for viewing my post.
