The holidays are over, and let me tell you, I survived. Barely. The tree’s still up (because honestly, who has the energy?), there’s glitter embedded in places it has no business being, and I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten my weight in cookies.
But now? Now it’s me time. The house is quiet, the wrapping paper apocalypse has been contained, and I’m finally sitting down with a cup of coffee that I don’t have to reheat five times. Bliss.
Sure, there’s still cleanup to do. Decorations to pack away. Leftovers to creatively disguise as meals for the next week. But for this one moment, I’m doing absolutely nothing. And it’s glorious.
Moms, if you’re reading this, let this be your permission slip. The holidays are exhausting—we deserve a little break, a little calm after the storm. So go ahead, put your feet up, pour that glass of wine or cup of tea, and remind yourself that you did it. You made the holidays happen, chaos and all.
