Hello Hive Music Gang!
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
This week I have got 3 tunes from a DJ who I haven't really been following very much lately, but perked up when I saw her most recent tune because of the catchy red hair. It reminded me of the woman in the red dress scene from The Matrix a little.
Peggy Gou is a DJ from South Korea and brings her unique style to her sets and music. I quite like the mellow chilled out sound when you want to listen to something with a nice beat but not so hectic.
The first time I heard a tune from Peggy was just a few years ago now and I don't remember exactly where I first heard it, but I quite liked the chilled out vibe of it. Possibly it came from social media which Peggy has really successful mixed into her marketing as you will see.
Peggy Gou - Starry Night
Her tunes have some great 80s synth sounds and are really mellow like this next one which have that unique Peggy sounds still and give that chilled out vibe.
I didn't listen to it with a hangover yet, although I suspect it would be soothing just like hair of the dog the next day.
Peggy Gou - I Go
The final tune is the one that seems to have hit the mainstream for Peggy and got lots of attention. First of all you could buy the song and dance in Fortnite for 500 V Bucks as you can see here.
The crazy thing is these days, artists cannot sell a single song or MP3, yet people are queueing up to buy a short cut of the song with an emote dance for more than a single used to cost! It goes to show that with some clever marketing, you can creat money with digital assets but you need to give customers more. Sadly you cannot own your assets truly in web2 games, but maybe it will come one day.
When people say the metaverse isn't here yet, Im not so sure as you can see that people who have the social climber emote, then met up and did the dance together. Something akin to the Macarena which is an emote I do own in Fortnite.
I'm not sure what to make of the song or the video, it seems very commercial and not like her other stuff, but combined with the social climber dance, she has a big hit on her hands!
Peggy Gou - (It Goes Like) Nanana
That wraps up my #ttt for this week. What tunes are you listening to this week?
For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Be sure to head over and give @ablaze some support as without his great work, we wouldn't have a #ttt.
