RE: Snowberries are ready for winter.

in WE ARE MOVING10 months ago

I got a lot of rosehips from the botanical garden last autumn and had them dried for tea and if I ever catch a cold or flu. I even tasted some right on the spot and they were sweet, sour and rich in vitamin C with small seeds and mild yellowish to red nectar in them. Tasty ! Thanks for reminding me! BTW: when we were kids, our parents always told us while we played outside not to eat snowberries because it can causes us ...death...I was so afraid of them but use to pop them in my fingers with other kids just for fun :) ....memories

I think I read somewhere that rosehip have some tiny fur inside that can irritate when eaten raw? Did you notice it?

No one ever told me not to eat it :p I am lad I wasn't tempted :D I did pop a lot of them though!

Yes, they do have some small fur and I try to eat the margins of them because of that reason.
