This is my post for #memoirmonday *prompt How do you think the world will be different in 30 years? hosted by @ericvancewalton

When I was a child, way more than 30 years ago, there was a cartoon called The Jetsons. They had a telephone that looked just like a computer monitor and I thought that was crazy, no one would ever be able to see each other while talking on the phone. They had Rosie the robot who cleaned their home, we do not have a robot like Rosie who did all of the cleaning but we do have dishwashers and a little round robot that glides around sweeping the floor. They had flying cars, I did not think we had them but thanks to Google I found they do exist.

You will see our forests cleared and instead of trees these windmill things will be erected. flying car copied from

If these things can come from a cartoon, How do you think the world will be different in 30 years?

When I was a child there was no cable TV, no cell phones, no internet, no computers, now there is even a watch that you can make phone calls from, check your blood pressure and pulse, and even pay for purchases. So what will be next?

I think you will be wearing decorative pins and when you pass someone who is wearing the same pin, they will introduce themselves to each other without you needing to talk and if they think you have enough things in common, they will alert you. Don't laugh, crazier things have happened.

The way the world is going only the very rich will be able to afford medicine from a pharmacy, the poor will need to go back to the way things were 100 years or more ago, they will make home remedies and hope they work. More people will drink because they can not get pain meds, or they will experiment with making drugs for their pain.

America will have a dictator, all rights will be taken away. They have almost done this now.

100 years ago you could hunt, fish, wander the woods, and swim where you wanted, not anymore. In the future, they will take your right to live where you want to live, how many children you are allowed to have, or even how many miles you can drive in a year.

In my town we can still use the beach for free and launch our boats for free, I see this changing, they will make us pay to use either of them. You can use public docks for free, this, too will change.

image.png

You will not be allowed to walk on the beach if there is a house near it.

Bottled water will not be sold, all wells on private property will be capped, and you will have to buy your water from the city. You can only water your plants when told. I know some places are like this now.

Weather patterns will change, the Atlantic Ocean will start having La Nino and La Nina which now only occur in the Pacific Ocean. The world will see more natural disasters.

Think about the Jetsons cartoon I spoke about, the things that came true in it, now think about the cartoons that kids watch today and pray nothing in them comes true.

The biggest difference in 30 years is I do not think I will still be here, I hope I will be, I would be 98 years old, but because of Hive, this post will live on forever.

Unless stated photos are mine

I think your thinking about the future is quite logical. The world is heading in such a way that nothing is impossible and nothing is predictable with certainty.

That last paragraph is the real fact!

Thank you, I have always said I would like to see 100 years old, but I do not know if I will make it, My parents passed in their 80s but 100 is my goal.

We've never been more in danger of this kind of world materializing. It's scary to think about. I think we'll definitely live to see something like the Chinese "social credit score" happen here in America. Our current credit score isn't far from it.

This video about AI was eye-opening for me:

I had heard about this talk he gave at Stanford University but wasn't able to find it until yesterday.

Wow, I had no idea that my pin idea could come true in the future, but after seeing this, maybe I should patent it, lol

Is your idea close to this?
https://humane.com/aipin

Not quite, it is more like I would wear a pin of an interest, say a fish, or gardening, and when someone else was near wearing the same pin, the pins would interact and if they thought we had enough in common they would alert us and see if we would like to meet. It could be anything you want, even if you are single, and put in the things you like in a partner and someone else is wearing a dating pin with the same likes.

It could be a future thing, crazier things are being made. lol

I see! You should patent it!

LOL, you can have it, I will never have the money for it. Years ago I invented a thing for me to pee on the boat when I am around all men fishermen and sent it to a place that was supposed to help get a patent, he took my idea and changed it but what he made was not as good as what I use. If I ever have the money, I will patent mine, it is the one that works.
