This is my post for #freewriters 2589 prompt set the clock hosted by @mariannewest
Last week I was at my sister's and saw a clock sitting on top of her hutch, I said that is a pretty clock, and she said, you want it? So I brought it home.
I have the clock on my phone but it is 7 minutes off. I have tried to set it and so has my daughter and granddaughter but we can not find out how to do it.
I also have a digital clock that runs on electricity and has a battery backup. I set it and it loses time. It runs 4 minutes off. I have no clue as to what its problem is.
I plugged my sister's clock in and it did nothing so I looked at the back to see if there was a switch to turn on and I saw writing that said turn to start. I have never seen an electric clock that you have to jump start. It did not say how many turns so I turned it and nothing happened. When you turn the knob, it also made the hand that counts seconds turn so I turned it until that hand made a full revolution and that worked so I set the clock.
Yesterday I noticed the clock stopped working and my sister was here, I told her about having to turn the knob, she knew nothing about the clock because it was given to her. We looked over at the clock and it had stopped working so I tried turning the knob and it started working again. This morning it has stopped again, I am not going to turn that knob every day, I see now why this clock keeps being given away, it is old, it is heavy and it does not stay working. It brings a new meaning to set the clock.
