Good day everyone, it Monday and needle day, I'm a person who is passionate about fashion and I loved expressing myself through unique dress, design and updated accessories.
Today, I decided to make a beautiful tote bag, I have gotten the necessary materials needed for this mission, I started by gathering all the necessary materials to the fashion design shop since I don't have a sowing machine.
I found a sturdy and durable black fabric, a pair of scissors, with sane colorful threads, , and a sewing machine. I was ready to bring my tote bag vision to life.
First , I measured and cut two rectangular pieces of the black fabric, ensuring they were of equal size with a measurement of 16.5 by 17 inche each side and that would be the main body of my tote bag. I chose a vibrant floral holozing creature pattern for the outside and a plain, contrasting color for the inside.
The next thing I did was at the sowing side, I carefully folded each piece of my fabric in half, with the side my design will be done facing inward, I carefully sewed the sides together, leaving the top open for opening and with that, I was able to created the basic shape of her tote bag.
In order to reinforce the bag's structure, I then decided to add a sturdy base. I measured and cut a rectangular piece of cardboard, this cardboard is slightly smaller than the bottom of my tote bag, I covered the cardboard with a fabric I used for the bag's exterior, ensuring it was neatly glued on.
then I inserted the cardboard base into the bottom of my tote bag, preventing it from sagging when filled with items and providing stability. I sewed the base securely to the bamaking sure it was firmly attached and I got to the point to add the handles.
So I measured and cut two long strips of fabric, about 1.5 inches wide and twice the desired length of my handles. I folded each strip in half lengthwise and sewed along the edge, creating a tube-like shape. I then turned the tubes inside out, revealing the patterned side.
I carefully attached the handles to the top edges of her tote bag, ensuring they were evenly spaced and securely sewn. I reinforced the attachment by sewing a square shape with an circle pattern at the top of each handle.
Finally, I turned my tote bag right side out, revealing the beautiful floral pattern i had chosen.
