There's hardly a south korean series without a Chaebol, a large family-owned business conglomerates and there's always the young heir, maybe irresponsible but have a good heart or a villain who tries too hard to inherit the wealth.
Well, when you thought you've seen it all with the children of a Chaebol family, Flex X Cop gives another plot, a storyline unlike the many others and one you'd have so much fun spending time on.
A display of wealth in fighting crimes and bringing injustice to light.... Flex X Cop is a 16 episode series of total fun.
To be honest, I didn't get recommendation or even saw the trailer before I decided to see this series, why? I am a huge fan of the lead character since I saw him in "See You In My 19th Life" where he starred as a romantic who falls in love with a reincarnated lady. I had to check out more series he had starred and I found out this series was ongoing.
Since I don't like the suspense of ongoing, I only got to see the series last week and more than expected... I had never imagined such a storyline, it was madddd! Lol.
Ahn Bo-hyun should take more detective roles in series, he was a natural with his role in this one. I can still remember the first scene like it was the only scene in the whole series lol. How he went from "Playing Cop" to being a real Cop was funny and at the same time thrilling.
The storyline goes like this... A to be mayor's son gets into trouble as he was found in a crime scene only for the detectives to find out he actually helped them catch a serial killer. In order to pay for the damage the station caused on the ongoing campaign, they agreed to let the mayor's son work as a cop until after the election.
With the mind that the Chaebol son would cause trouble and not take the cop job serious, his fellow detectives tried to make him quit by giving him difficult tasks which he ends up doing using his wealth. It was from one display of wealth to another as they caught criminals one after the other.
One scene, he used his private helicopter to catch a criminal who was about to fly out the country, that scene still can't get out of my head lol.
I can't even start talking about his fellow cops who began to value his efforts in helping them fight crimes and then, there is the hurtful past that began to unravel which made viewers curious and unsettled until the end.
I read somewhere that there would be a season two for this series but trust me when I say the first season ended well enough and I'm not so excited about a second season. I wouldn't want them spoiling the good feeling I have after seeing this season lol.
Will check out Flex X Cop? It's definitely going to be worth your time.
