I'm a huge of movies, TV series and anything on screen to keep me entertained so you could guess I've seen different kinds of entertainment but I know I've not explored enough in this aspect which is okay, so long I'm getting entertained anyways. Anyone following my blog would know I'm a bigger fan of kdrama series but it didn't stop me from writing for this prompt.
Growing up, I always got the latest release in cartoons and dad was in full support of this as he was the one bringing some home then. I still watch cartoons now but the story is different from before.

Giving the differences between anime and cartoon as a job won't be done well enough by me as I've only explored one side of it more (cartoon) and I'm still undecided whether to explore anime or not. I have a younger Bro who enjoys them so well but I can't seem to bring myself to join him. I've actually once asked him what the difference between anime and cartoons are because they did seem same to me before.
I don't remember his response but I can remember it to mean that they are a lot different from each other. One thing I recall clearly from what he said is that, anime aren't for all kids as cartoons are for all kids... I know this is subjective to what others would think watching anime.
From all my experiences watching anime, I think one movie gave the anime vibe but I wasn't sure if I was seeing anime or it's just another cartoon made to look different. The movie is the old animated movie titled "Kirikou".
I don't know if anyone would recognize or remember this movie but it went really viral back then that I couldn't not watch it with friends and I remember enjoying it as it was quite new to what I had been seeing. I actually searched on Google to ask if "Kirikou" is an anime or not but I couldn't get a clear answer so I'm throwing the question open, where does this movie fall into?
From what I've heard from anime lovers, anime are fun to watch and has a lot more realistic and unpredictable storylines than cartoons. I know for sure that cartoons are always with unrealistic stories with their "Always happy endings" so easy to predict. I've never seen issues with that as cartoons were made to just put smiles on faces as it did for me.
One of my favourite kind of cartoon that took a big part of my childhood and movies is, "Barbie collection" a collection of different barbie storylines that I'm so familiar with.
I could sing the songs from everyone of them I saw then, even say some lines as if I was there when they had it prepared... I was that diligent in seeing cartoons (barbie and a few others). It made me see no reason to see anime but I'm planning to explore it just to be able to relate with my Bro when he sees it lol.
More things I've heard about anime is that, it isn't for just any kid as parental guidance is needed too. The only one I've seen was not appropriate for a kid to see even though it was a kinda child based story. There are other anime like it as a friend has talked about it to me recently.
So the only resemblance between the two is that, they are both animated and a lot of other things are different from what they are based on to who they are more targeted to.
This is my entry to the June Inleo Prompt Challenge with Day 13 focus on "Anime Vs cartoons, is there really a difference?". Don't know what to write on Hive today? You're invited to participate.
