Excellent warm afternoon in my territorial spaces.
Immense greetings to @Creativecuisine
Every day brings new opportunities to share those small, simple, and very delicious recipes where with enthusiasm, and willingness we act to test ingredients, how to put them together to shape small and large desserts to share a coffee afternoon or to praise someone at a certain time. We feel that making a small cake is a good gift that sweetly makes us feel appreciated.
A few months ago a very close person told me that she had a recipe for orange cake, she kept repeating it and repeating it, as it was so delicious she made it several times and the result was always delicious, she shared it with a friend and he replied that it was a delight.
I, in my adventure of occupying myself with these culinary activities, told him to give me the recipe. He made it so many times that he already knew by heart the ingredients and the step by step of it.
Well, I checked my pantry to see what I had to make it and I only had to buy oranges...he repeated several times (you take out the unbottled orange juice) and I, very obediently did so.
To shape this recipe, the following ingredients were used:
11/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
1 cup natural orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Orange zest (this last one was part of my creativity)
After separating the measurements of the ingredients, I proceeded to peel the oranges to extract their juice (at that time I did not have an orange juicer, I used a lemon juicer, turning the oranges into small pieces.
Before finishing peeling the oranges, one orange was taken to grate its peel and turned into zest as part of the ingredients.
It was time to prepare the ingredients, first the dry ingredients: in a container, the one you use, put together the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and orange zest.
In a separate container, add the vinegar, vanilla, oil, and orange juice.
Combine the dry ingredients very well, using a hand mixer. Then incorporate the liquids.
Everything already integrated, the dry and the liquids, proceed to take to the container chosen to cook the mixture. We used a 16-measuring one approximately, buttered and floured. The mixture was poured. It was taken to the preheated oven; for 45 minutes approximately...here I always make the observation that each creative cook knows her oven. It can be a little more time or a little less. In this preparation, it was 40 minutes.
Here the mixture turned into a delicious temptation that because of its color and aroma provoked me to cut it hot. We waited for it to lower its temperature to taste it.
I can say, very delicious, it was moist, with an orange aroma that almost my husband and mother were left without eating. My sister who shared this recipe with me told me that it was super delicious and that in her recipe there was no orange zest (that was my contribution to this recipe) and that when she makes it again she will add it.
I will repeat it at any time and double its ingredients to have a little more to taste.
