The Netherlands is basking in the glorious summer sun today, and the infectious energy of EURO 2024!
This wonderful weather made sitting inside with the kids at school unbearable.
So, we all spilled outside for a much-needed dose of Vitamin D.
While I tackled my admin duties al fresco, the playground came alive with the sounds of laughter as children zoomed around on tractors and bicycles.
My colleague and I enjoyed the sunshine, the joyous energy of the kids, and a refreshing cup of coffee (with a big water chaser, of course!).
The sun was certainly packing a punch today, and even with sunscreen, some of the little ones with sensitive skin needed a quick break under the shade of a nearby tree.
Speaking of sunshine perks, we were lucky enough to receive a delicious treat!
A student's father brought a whole tray of perfectly ripe cherries.
We devoured them gratefully alongside a medley of other fruits: juicy mangoes, crisp apples, sweet strawberries, and plump pears.
This delightful fruit salad was the perfect pick-me-up for the afternoon.
Fueled by sunshine, fruit, and happy vibes, the day flew by.
After work, I settled on the couch to catch the Netherlands take on Austria.
Like everyone else in the country, I'm caught up in the EURO 2024 fever!
It'll be exciting to see who claims the European Champion title on July 14th.
While I, of course, wanted to see the Netherlands in orange celebrate a victory, the match was a nail-biter.
It started with a heart-stopping own goal by Donyell Malen in the first few minutes!
Thankfully, Cody Gakpo evened the score with a fantastic goal for the Netherlands.
However, the rest of the game wasn't quite our best showing. Austria ultimately took the win with a final score of 2-3.
The next match sees us face the winner of pool C, and whispers suggest it could be England.
But hey, that's the beauty of the Euros - anything can happen!
Wishing everyone a lovely evening. Time to recharge for another day. Goodnight!
Wishing you all the best in life and much health.
